Charleston SC Fly Fishing
The fall fly fishing here in Charleston, SC has been fantastic so far! There is still a lot of bait in the marsh including shrimp, crabs and plenty of bait fish. Redfish have been abundant and happily feeding throughout the tide cycles. FishWater Outfitters have been targeting Redfish while fly fishing on the flood tides throughout the month of October with great success. These big tides will continue to produce tailing Redfish throughout most of November depending on our air and water temperatures. The fly fishing in Charleston, SC has been very good around the low tides, especially 2-3 hours before and after the low tide. Captain Braden Powell has been very successful fly fishing with shrimp and crab imitations. These flies will also continue to work throughout November until the water begins to really cool down in December.
The fly fishing in Charleston, SC will continue to be great throughout the month of November! Beginning in December when the water temperatures cool down the Redfish will begin to form schools to help protect themselves from the Bottlenose Dolphin. Fly fishing during these winter months is as good as it gets with clear water and Redfish pushing wakes around the mud flats and oyster bars.
